Following to the draft project plan for displaying voter list in ten townships (Yangon), New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) has been working on the Election Awareness Program, coordinating with other CSOs, to help and enhance the voters to check the voter list in Pazundaung Township from March 30 to April 12 of 2015.
As the voter registration process is going on, Union Election Commission (UEC) started displaying voter list in ten townships of Yangon, from March 30 to April 12. The targeted townships are Botataung, Dagon, Dawbon, Kamaryut, Kyauktada, Lanmadaw, Latha, Pazundaung, Seikkan and Seikkyi Kanaungto Townships.
By the support of Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA), NMF and its peer organizations are running awareness programs, such as Voter Awareness Workshop, Announcing, enhancing and helping the voters to check voter list, and monitoring amendment in each township from March 30 to April 12. NMF is operating for Pazundaung Township area scope. NMF had distributed 2,000 pamphlets in the following targeted area;
- 51th Street – Between Annawrahta Road and Maharbandula Road
- 55th Street – Between Annawrahta Road and Maharbandula Road
- Thidar Seik Street – Lower Pazundaung Road
- Between Annawrahta Road and Lower Pazundaung Road
- Upper Pazundaung Road and Gandamar street
- Lakkan Street
- Dawna Street
- Yaykyaw Road
- 52th Street
