In July 14, New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) and other member organizations of Election Education and Observation Partners (EEOP) had visited and met with the chairman and members of Union Election Commission (UEC) in Nay Pyi Taw.
As the historic General Election in Myanmar draws nearer and the date of the Election Day, 8 November 2015, was announced by UEC, it is the right time to initiate the series of EEOP’s Election Observation Mission (EOM – 2015) plan. So that, EEOP decided to visit to UEC and discuss about the monitoring and regulations for the code of conduct of Domestic Election Observation.
EEOP and NMF had revealed the difficulties in ground-level experiences and asked for several questions concerning with the Election observation to UEC. The chairman and members of UEC welcomed member CSOs for the discussions, and had answered and explained the possible conditions, procedures and the considerations for respective issues.
