Voter Information and Awareness Activities in Dala Township

Volunteers for Voter Information and Awareness Activities

During the preliminary voter list display – fourth phase, June 22 to July 5 of 2015, New Myanmar Foundation (NMF) had participated for voter information and awareness activities in Dala and Hlegu Townships by coordinating with respective township-level election sub-commissions following the meeting with Yangon Election Sub-commission.

NMF distributed over 7,000 of voter information and awareness pamphlets and hundreds of vinyls during the fourth phase. NMF also donated 3,000 of Form (3), Form (4) and Form (4-c) and other donations to election sub-commission offices, especially for Ward/Village level election sub-commissions. At the same time in these Townships, NMF had provided the above pamphlets, vinyls and forms required to other regions around the country by coordinating with respective local CSOs, members of Election Education and Observation Partners (EEOP) – Southern Shan State, Magwe Division, Sagaing Division, Chin State and other places. Same as the previous activities in previous phases, NMF had conducted the voter awareness workshop to over 200 household leaders of Wards and Villages to enhance the voter to check the voter list and provide voter information in each of the Townships.

However, NMF may only manage to issue activities and program report for all phases just in the end of July because we are very busy in initiating Election Observation Mission (EOM – 2015) for EEOP during the month of July.
